The Impact of WAV’s Youth Programs

Building Confidence, Connection, and Creativity

At WAV, we measure success not only in creativity but in meaningful personal growth. The impact of our programs is clear:

Attendance Improvement:
Before joining our program, students had an average attendance rate of 70%. After participation, this increased to 82.2%, demonstrating a significant boost in student engagement.

Through arts-based learning, WAV is closing achievement gaps, fostering resilience, and equipping youth with tools for success—both in and out of the classroom.

Afterschool Programs

Our afterschool sessions offer students a safe, creative space to explore their artistic passions. Held in Franklin County schools and our central location, these 2.5-hour sessions include:

  • Social-emotional learning curriculum

  • Songwriting and music production

  • Visual arts workshops

  • Dance and movement classes

  • Creative writing and spoken word

  • Performance rehearsals and showcases

WAV is super welcoming and helps you express yourself, even if you’re not sure what to say. It felt exciting but also kind of vulnerable—I don’t usually get to share that side of me. I got to talk about stuff I don’t talk about much, and putting it into lyrics and hearing it in a song was really cool.
