The Impact of WAV’s ADULT Programs

Building Confidence, Connection, and Creativity

Participants in our adult programs experience profound personal growth, including:

400+ Central Ohio Adults

Attended our open enrollment workshops at the WAV studio and at partner sites

Creative Healing Workshops

These free, open-enrollment workshops welcome individuals from all backgrounds to explore the arts in a supportive community. Sessions include:

  • Community Creatures: A monthly collage-making workshop

  • Seasonal Art Sessions: Rotating classes in a variety of mediums from visual arts, to filmmaking, comedy and puppetry.

  • On-the-Road Workshops: Bringing creative programs to underserved communities, such as senior centers and rehabilitation facilities

Songwriting Workshops

Music is a powerful medium for self-expression and healing. Our songwriting workshops provide adults with:

  • Guided group sessions of lyric writing and composition

  • Opportunities to collaborate with professional musicians

  • A supportive space to share personal stories through music

Life Stories Project

Through Life Stories, WAV helps incarcerated men and women document their journeys through film and storytelling. This project includes:

  • Documentary Screenings: Featuring the oral histories of women at the Ohio Reformatory for Women

  • Interactive Workshops: Engaging the public in discussions about resilience and second chances
