Youth programs

Our workshops are centered on developing self-esteem, confidence, character, and collaboration.

WAV’s youth programs have three primary goals:

1. To activate student awareness and engagement in their communities through art exercises and therapeutic conversations.

2. To empower students to use their voices, listen to others, and harness the power of empathy.

3. To relate the story of their journey to the broader community

WAV’s signature middle school program, WE, The Change, is now offered at 6 middle schools both during school hours and as an Out of School Time program (afterschool and summer).

Where We've Been...

Adult Programs

We use art as a catalyst for conversations that promote healing and resilience.

Our adult workshops are offered to diverse communities from women in prison, to adults with developmental disabilities, to victims of human trafficking. Whether writing a song, creating visual art, or capturing an oral history, our groups share, heal and grow together through a creative process.

WAV also offers documentary screenings and interactive workshops for their Life Stories project; a documentary featuring the oral histories of 10 women serving life or long sentences in prison.
