About the event

Columbus Seniors & Veterans: Share Your Story in the 2025 Intergenerational Project!

Be part of a unique opportunity to connect with young minds and celebrate your legacy! The 2025 Intergenerational Project with We Amplify Voices invites local veterans (ages 50+) to join 3rd-grade students from Avondale Elementary School in a meaningful program of interviews, storytelling, and creative expression. This year’s theme focuses on veterans, highlighting your stories and experiences in a way that inspires connection and creativity across generations.

Here’s What You’ll Do:

  • Meeting and Tour of National Veterans Memorial Museum: Optional initial meeting and free tour of NVMM on Wednesday, Feb. 5, 11:00 AM.

  • Luncheon and Storytelling: Share your story with students during a special luncheon at Carrie’s Café (LifeCare Alliance) on Wednesday, February 12th, 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM. Students will conduct interviews as part of their learning journey.

  • Creative Session: Collaborate with fellow veterans in March to create a collective art piece that reflects your experiences.
